GRE tunnels on the ME3600

Good day

 

 

The Cisco ME3600, does it support GRE tunnels? If I wanted to transport layer 2 traffic over a layer 3 network how would I achieve this if I have the ME3600 switch.

Do you have MPLS enabled on the core network?. If so, consider EoMPLS or VPLS to transport L2 frames between customer devices.

GRE tunnel cannot encapsulate a L2 frame. You may need EoMPLS/VPLS or L2TPv3. But I think L2TPv3 is not supported in ME switches.
