I'm deploying a new Metro Ethernet network and I'm not sure which OAM protocol fault Management should be use “802.1 g (CFM) or the new Y1731 FM”. All examples that I am seeing are using 802.1ag for Faults and Y1731 for Performance. Now the Y1731 covers the AM and FM.
My doubt: If I choose to use only the Y1731 for FM and PM I will facing problem with interoperability with another Server Provider that use 802.1 ag "CFM"? Below you can see the drawing representing the doubt.
