ME3400 & 3550 policing criteria

Dear All,

Kindly let me know on what basis does policing is done on ME3400 & C3550.

1. L2 Ethernet Frame ( including Preamble, SFD & FCS)

2. L2 Ethernet Frame inlucding Preamble, SFD

3. L2 Ethernet Frame excluding Preamble, SFD

4. L2 Ethernet Frame excluding Preamble, SFD & FCS

5. On L3 packet.

In order to set up policing, you must define the QoS policy maps and apply them to ports. This is otherwise known as port-based QoS.

looking forward for the method on which bandwidth stated in the policing command is computated.

e.g after enable qos on box & creating proper class-map & policing on an interfacef0/1 for 20mb. If a send 64 byte ethernet frame ( 46 byte-data) what would be the rate effectively one would get.
