MetroEthernet ME3800 24FS (Tunneling problem)

Hello,

I had installed in a operational MetroEthernet network a ME3800 24FS to expand the backbone from 2G to 10G.

The OLD equipment of aggregation was a ME3400 12CS and below we have five rings working with REP protocol.

1- The OLD struture was:

[7600]                    14Km

POP (A)  --------------------------------                                     5 rings
   |                                                 |                                   __________

   |                                                 |                                   |                   |

   | 25Km       BACKBONE 2G     POP (C) [ME 3400 12CS]  1G ring  |

   |                                                 |                                   |_________ |
   |                                                 |

POP (B)  --------------------------------

[7600]                    27Km

2- The NEW struture is:

[7600]                    14Km

POP (A)  --------------------------------                                    5 rings
   |                                                 |                                   __________

   |                                                 |                                   |                    |

   | 25Km      BACKBONE 10G   POP (C) [ME 3800 24FS]    1G ring  |

   |                                                 |                                   |__________|
   |                                                 |

POP (B)  --------------------------------

[7600]                    27Km

Problem:

After  Install the ME3800 24FS a problem with tunneling began to occur. Some  circuits are protected with this network (C-VLAN using STP) and the  tunneling is created between the ends (S-VLANS). In our tests with the  command "show l2protocol-tunnel interface f0/1" all seems good but the  customers saying that BPDUs are not exchenged between the ends.

Trobleshooting:

We  did a LAB in this operational network with two switchs connected in our  POP (A) and an equipment within a ring 1G. Both switchs turn the ROOT. I  checked with debug and the equipments send but not receive BPDUs from  the other end.

We did a LAB with no perational switchs  and the BPDUs are exchenged normaly. ( in this LAB we had used the  ME3800 24FS without rings)

show l2protocol-tunnel interface f0/1 command:
