ATM Configuration (vbr-nrt and vbr-rt)

Hello,

Can some one please recommend the best possible configuration for ATM. We have DS3 circuits at both the ends, with ATM PVC point to point.

Is it possible to run vbr-rt and vbr-nrt at once on the same interface or does it have to be one or the or the other?

My plan is to use the vbr-rt for voice, the vbr-nrt for corporate data and ubr for Internet traffic with each sub-int with a corresponding route-map.

interface ATM4/0

no ip address

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

load-interval 30

atm scrambling cell-payload

atm framing cbitplcp

atm uni-version 3.1

no atm ilmi-keepalive

no atm address-registration

!

interface ATM4/0.1 point-to-point

ip address <ip address>

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

pvc 1/99

protocol ip <ip address> broadcast

vbr-rt 256 256

!

!

interface ATM4/0.2 point-to-point

ip address <ip address>

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

pvc 1/100

protocol ip <ip address> broadcast

vbr-nrt 4096 2048

service-policy output atm/nrt

crypto map atm-nrt-to-paris

!

interface ATM4/0.3 point-to-point

ip address <ip address>

no ip route-cache

no ip mroute-cache

pvc 1/101

ubr 6144

Hope someone can help.

Re: ATM Configuration (vbr-nrt and vbr-rt)

I think it is possible. You can use separate vc-classes to define the parametes and then apply them to the respective PVCs . See these links for more information :
