Basic Concept of Xconnect in the case of AToM

Hello

What is the basic concept of Xconnect in the case of AToM?

How AToM can be implemented in the live networks? What are the issues that can faced in the AToM technology?

I am unavair of this concept as i need to start this topic, Pls help me out how can i start to implement this?

Hi,

AToM is the way of carrying layer-2 protocols over MPLS. these layer-2 protocols are , Ethernet , HDLC , PPP , Frame-relay, and ATM.

The L2VPN is carried in point to point fashion and its TTL value always set to 2 , the top label is the tunnel label and the inner label is always going to be the VC label

VPLS is carried in point to multipoint fashion and its TTL value alwys set  to 255.

Ethernet Over MPLS allows CDP,STP, and VTP to be tunneled over MPLS.

Ethernet Over MPLS has two Modes:

1- Port Mode

2- Vlan Mode
