BFD on Bundle

Hi,

Can I used BFD over Bundle (LAG)?

I want to use BFD on IOS-XR Bundle Interface.

R1 (IOS-XR) ----L2 switch - R2

| R3 so on

R1-R2 ( /31 point to point) , R1-R3 same way. L2 switch to R1 , Bundle.

With this, can IOS-XR Bundle interface for each Router have BFD session and how it reacts ot single link failure par tof bundle ??

Regards,

Chintan

Re: BFD on Bundle

Hi Chintan,

BFD on bundle interface for static, OSPF and ISIS is supported since 3.4.0.

Please check the following link for more information:

Re: BFD on Bundle

Thanks Laurent. It appears that BFD on Bundle interface doesn't support echo packets. so we will have to use asyncronous mode only and it says BFD peer will be up unles VLAN/Bunlde is up.

So if i have setup

IOS-XR (CR)----Bundle---L2 switch--- PE.

PE to L2 switch - 1 gig link fails , will BFD on CR detect thsi failure and will inform uppler layer (IS-IS) ??

Re: BFD on Bundle

Hi,

I did not personally test this configuration but as BFD packets are between the PE and the XR box, I'm expected it will work.
