hi Navi,

you might use http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp for these queries in the future, 12.3-15b does support MPLS as well, you just need SERVICE PROVIDER feature set.

HTH!

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your response.

OK, the Cisco tool is a little bit hard to get.

What I requested for is that…..Can the Cisco 7204 NPE-G1 upgradeable to support MPLS? (the current IOS is this router Cisco 7204 router is C7200-is-mz.123-15b.bin

Hi Navi,

yes it can, platform-wise, you just need a proper IOS image for that. What do you have in 'sh ver' at the moment?

Right, it is an IP PLUS image, you would need this:

c7200-p-mz.123-15b.bin

to run MPLS.

Thanks….

I have an existing 7206 NPE-G2 router with sh version below. Can I upgrade the 7204 IP Plus image to the 7206 NPE-G2 image?

Hi Ivan,

How can I get this image?

Navi,

if you mean "NPE-G2" image, then it is not possible 'cause it is a different CPU type, not image. In other words if you wish upgrade from NPE-G1 to NPE-G2, you need to change hardware rather than software.

I hope this is clear now.

Cheers!

Thanks Ivan,

It’s clear now.

Do you have any idea of where we can get the below IOS from? I notice that the NPE-G1 is not supported with Cisco anymore.

c7200-p-mz.123-15b.bin
