EoMPLS: Can I mix Dot1Q and port mode

Dear all

I am looking at a project that would involve migrating Ethernet traffic off a L2 network ( V Large) onto an MPLS network and I am looking to support the following configuration:

A customer has a firewall connected via Dot1Q to a PE. Can I configure one VC from that PE to a remote PE and have that PE also terminate on a Dot1Q configured port. Also the customer would need to have a connection to an other remote device that is connected via port mode.

Is it possible for the customer attachment port ( running dot1Q) to connect to both Dot1q and port mode endpoints

Any help greatly appreciated

Regards

John Keane

John, you can do this interworking which is Vlan/Ethernet Interworking.

For configuration examples check this link out and also refer to the restrcitions.
