Hi,
Please let me know why the ip address from the interface is removed after applying the "ip vrf forwarding test" command. we need to configure the ip address again. What is the reason.
Thanks
Mano

Hi,
it´s not a bug - it´s a feature! ;-)
Consider a customer running OSPF area 0 in the VRF and the SP running OSPF area 0 in the backbone.
When you unintentionally remove the "ip vrf forwarding test" statement from the customer interface, he could easily get OSPF adjacency and mess up both networks in case the interface IP would NOT be removed.
So the removal of IP address prevents at least unintentional IP connectivity in case of a misconfiguration.
Hope this helps

Hi Manohar
Its the feature of MPLS VPN, it will create separate routing table other than global routing table and same will be reffered only by interfaces who are in same VRF instance. This is why interface ip needs to be remove from global routing table. Interfaces in VRF will not referred to global routing table under normal configuartion.
Hope its clear your doubt.
