Internet leased line hardware/link sizing for small ISP

As a service provider what will be the basic technical questionnaire that should be asked to a reseller (Small ISP) before selling him the internet bandwidth pipe of 45Mbps to 90 Mbps. Also what all network devices (CPE) 2800/3800 router will be required at the premises of the Small ISP + type of media to be proposed Ethernet/ds3.

Any advice is highly appreciated.

This depends on multiple factors, just to name a few:

1) Media to be proposed : the most easliy available last mile from his location to your pop, plus the port speed of the bandwidth you intend to sell. (within a metro, Ethernet as a media should be cost effective)

2) CPE - This depends on the number of routes you plan to advertise to him, and based on this you may need to arrive on the memory configuration of the CPE as well.

Also other factors like, whether this CPE is purely going to be used as a IGW, or will do certain access limitations etc for data, needs to be thought of as well.

Surely this is more open a question, so you can easliy narrow it down with your customer understanding the requirements.

HTH-Cheers,

Swaroop
