Maximum IBGP peers on a 3750

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me the maximum number of IBGP peer i can have on a 3750 with EMI? the maximum number of routes i am looking at is 400 routes (small) but i am looking at a up to 100 peers. bandwidth usage too will be small (max will be 200MB)

cheers

Re: Maximum IBGP peers on a 3750

Hello,

I do not have a real production example of such a setup, but this should be possible given the small number of routes.

The number of peers will "just" put some load on the CPU, which should not be too large under normal peration. Just make sure to use peer-groups and other measures to reduce CPU load.

Hope this helps! Please rate all posts.

Re: Maximum IBGP peers on a 3750

Hi,

i don't think itzzz viable to put that much load on a 3750. If you are going to have 100 peers, just think that it is going to maintain tcp connections with all of them.. and whatever it suppose to send(routing information) it has to replicate the same to all the peers. So i feel, it is better go for the higher end router with the router reflector setup.

Rate if it does,
