Hi,

can MPLS load-balance ? (when using OSPF as IGP there is a possibility that 2 prefixes will be reached with equal cost...). And what if a router has several links to the same router ?

Thank you

Jean-Francois,

MPLS does provide load-balancing. If the payload is ipv4, the source and destination IP addresses are used to calculate the hash value that will be used to select the outbound interface for that flow.

If the payload is l2vpn, the inner laber is used to calculate the hash value.

Hope this helps,

Hi

Does MPLS able to load-balance? Is it trully 50-50 balance? I think load-sharing is the best word instaed of load-balance.

Base on my experience, it is hard for us to get trully load-balance in any network. Anybody can give me a true load-balance result.

Hi,

If i'm not mistaken, you need configure unique RD per VRF per PE multihomed site/interface. Then need to enable BGP multipath within the relevent BGP vrf address family at remote/receiving PE..

router bgp 10

address-family ipv4 vrf test

maximum-paths eibgp 2

Happy load balacing...:)
