MPLS TE w. CBTS

Hi All,

I have 2 questions regarding CBTS [MPLS Traffic Engineering (TE)--Class-Based Tunnel Selection]:

- There is a statement in the documentation "The operation of CBTS is not supported with Any Transport over MPLS (AToM), MPLS TE Automesh, or label-controlled (LC) ATM." Does it mean, ATOM (ethernet xconnect) won't be transported between tunnel headend and tunnel tailend PE routers (Inside the tunnels or in global using IGP SPF path)?

- Is CBTS supported in hardware on 7600 boxes running SRB software?

Any comments will be welcomed.

Thank You

JM.,

Jozef,

The statement you are referring to only states that CBTS is not supported for AToM. Although it is not officially supported, it does work.

CBTS is indeed supported in HW.

Harold,

Thank You for Your answer, officially ATOM is not supported by MPLS TE CBTS (this is the statement from TAC).

Anyway, we have done some tests, there were some problems on application level with FTP & NFS.
