Experts need your kind assistance , I am in final phase of my MS. I am stuck up in selection of thesis topic , Please suggest newer area in which some research and work can be done .please sugget topics related to Computer network/

few topics in my mind ;

1) interAS MPLS VPN with IPSEC ( seems very old)

2)dDesign and analysis of optical networks using GMPLS

3) Thinking of advance features in BGP

4)Traffic enginnering MPLS

5)Security issues in IPv6

6)QoS design

7)back up route in BGP.

8)Security analysis in BGP

2. MPLS Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) and its applications
3. IPv6 Security Issues
4. IP Fast Reroute mechanisms
5. BGP advanced features
   1. ECMP in BGP, BGP add-path, BGP diverse paths
   2. BGP Prefix Independent Convergence (PIC)
   3. BGP security - BGPsec, secure inter-domain routing

Hello Sameer,

You are pursing the masters degree, right? Are you supposed to do some programming stuff as well, or do your college/university rules allow you to pass with a thesis that basically uses existing technologies only?

IPsec in IPv6 - what exactly do you have in mind? The IPsec in IPv6 is an old, old story, as IPsec was originally created and designed for IPv6 and was just backported to IPv4 (and then it turned out that it is deployed much more often in IPv4 than in IPv6).

Yes , I am doing Master's degree . It would be better if we develop some algorithmic approoach or program code but use of existing technologies is not barred..

I have also come across a another good topic may be ( BGP 4 byte AS ).Please advise .

I agree with u i IPSEC in IPV6 scenario..

Please suggest some good topic/idea which can be used as a new /research area .
