MTU on GSR

Hi,

I have a GSR configured for default MTU (1500) on the Gigabit SPA (5 port SPA). The interface is used to configure EoMPLS tunnel with 7600s. So when a large EoMPLS packet (with IP Payload > 1492) which has PPPoE header reaches this interface, does the GSR drop it or pass through?. As it is a L2 packet it cannot be fragmented. If it drops it can affect the traffic, right? Where can I see the drops in the GSR...I do not see the same in the show interfaces..

Thanks,

Prakash

you should increase MTU on the path with the EoMPLS tunnel

Hi,

You can see in the L2 tunnel information.

ie; show mpls l2transport vc detail.

You will see an output at last like below..

VC statistics:

packet totals: receive <>, send <>

byte totals: receive <>, send <>

packet drops: receive <>, send <>

Regards

rate me if this helps you..
