Hi,
By default with ASM, Recevier PE will switchover to STP (S,G)recepipt of first packet and i think that can again creat loads of (s,G).
so It would be good to disabled the same in mVPN case in global configuration to keep SPT threshold infinity for ASM and keep (*,G) only state.
Will this still allow to swithover to DATA MDT once configured threshold at PE for particular (S,G)get crossed ?

Chintan,
These are two completely different things. You can certainly disable the RPT to SPT switchover and have default MDT to data MDT switchover.

Thanks Hritter.
The idea is to not have (S,G) with in Default MDT due to default SPT nature and once threshold cross for high BW source, switchover to DATA MDT with (S,G). I guess this is a ideal way to optimize (S,G) when running PIM-SM (default) and PIM-SSM (DATA).
Am I correct ?

I agree and that's why PIM bi-dir is recommended for the default MDT.

Yes, that's correct but MultiFinder environment situation doesn't allow me to use PIM bi-dir due to non availability of support across all platform.
