mVPN in CsC enviroment

Hello,

we have a customer (ISP1) who has few separate ASes with MPLS VPN service, and run InterAS between to make VPN service persistent.

Now they want to use second ISP (ISP2) for transit traffic between their ASes. They want to use CsC for this using ISP2 as backbone provider. So it is going to be a classical hyerarchical VPN envoroment.

ISP1 also intends to implement mVPN in the near future, and use it between ASes. The question is - is it possible to scale CsC somehow to mVPN service? Or they will have to run multicast in global routing table, and have ISP2 to configure mVPN on their PE-CE links?

Thank you!

Hi,

If both ISP1 and ISP2 are running MPLS-VPN, then it will just be a double GRE encapsulation ;-).  So you will have to configure MVPN on both ISP's.

HTH
