I heard from a colleagued of mine that NPE-G1 processor load increased substantially when many vrf ware PAT entries were being created simultaneously. THis was only apparent when ping packets to the Internet were being translated as there is a separate translation created for every ICMP packet.
Does anyone know if NPE-G2 solve this problem ? Since vrf-aware NAT/PAT is not supported on Sup720/MSFC3, it looks like we dun have much options ? :((
One possible options is to use Sup720 with FWSM to create multiple context and use each individual context to perform PAT.
