Setup LDP Password for new peers.

Hi,

I had P router previous enable the LDP with other peer routers. No password is configured for the peers session. No neighbour command.

Now I would like to add more routers and connect to this P routers via STM-1. But new requirement is the LDP session must setup password for this new peers, for existing peers remain no password set.

If I add this command in P router, will it cause other non-password peer to down ? or it just take effect only the new peer ?

mpls ldp neighbor 139.27.0.15 password password123.

Hi,

This command is specific to the neighbour address that you specify in the command, it will have no effect on any existing neighbour adj;s.

You can verify this command has taken effect, by using "show mpls ldp neighbor detail" where you will you the field for MD5 ON, this means this LDP adj uses MD5 authentication.
