Hi.
Could sombody explain me if the " show tech-support" command affects the forwarding of a PE router ( 7600) or a P router ( 12406) working in an IP/MPLS ( VPN) network ?
thanks

yes
it can because it uses the more cpu to collect the information. Thats why it is called during show tech not to use any thing with router.

Hello Pablo,
the 12406 is totally distributed and forwarding is performed by the engines in the linecards.
Main cpu can rise to high level but forwarding shouldn't be affected.
For the C7600 it depends on the linecards you use and if they have DFCs: if all have DFCs it is again a totally distributed CEF system and forwarding shouldn't be affected.
I wouldn't expect packet losses while you take a sh tech-support in general even if linecards are not intelligent on their own on C7600.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
