TDP to LDP

Hi...

In our network we are having TDP as signalling protocol and in the process of changing to LDP.... Any advantages of LDP over TDP.. because now a days Cisco's IOS comes with defaut as LDP (previously with TDP)...

I suspect Fault tolerant features are not available in TDP but not sure...

is the reason is only LDP being Open Standard or anything extra ???

thanks in advance

Re: TDP to LDP

TDP and LDP are very similar in operation, but TDP is nonstandard, does not support authentication, or have notification among other things.

Also TDP does not support the High Availability features such as Non Stop Forwarding/Stateful Switchover and Graceful Restart.
