Re: Traffic Engineering in MPLS

The routing of VPN traffic is dependent on the routing of the BGP next-hop. The BGP next-hop can be changed for each vpn with the bgp next-hop command under the vrf configuration. A static route can now be added, pointing the next-hop to a TE tunnel

Example

PE 1

ip vrf vpna

rd 1:1

ro bo 1:1

bgp next-hop loo 1

int loo 1

ip add 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255

int tun 0

desc MPLS TE Tunnel

ip route 2.2.2.2 255.255.255.255 tun 0

PE 2

ip vrf vpna

rd 1:1

ro bo 1:1

bgp next-hop loo 1

int loo 1

ip add 2.2.2.2 255.255.255.255

int tun 0

desc MPLS TE Tunnel

ip route 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 tun 0
