Why difference targeted hello hold time and interval?

Can you see bellow, this is established LDP session information to use xconnect command.

Peer LDP Ident: 192.168.1.1:0; Local LDP Ident 192.168.2.2:0

TCP connection: 192.168.1.1.646 - 192.168.2.2.12762

Targeted Hello 192.168.2.2 -> 192.168.1.1, active, passive;

holdtime: infinite, hello interval: 2222 ms

I quess why holdtime of targeted hello is infinite and interval is 2222ms.

I was configuring two command.

tag-switching tdp discovery directed-hello interval 5

tag-switching tdp discovery directed-hello holdtime 20

this is verifying sh mpls ldp parameters

command. printed information is right.

Discovery targeted hello: holdtime: 20 sec; interval: 5 sec

I want to know this problem.

Somebody help me?

holdtime: infinite and interval is 2222ms are parameters pertaining to the TCP session and are not settable.

You want to look at the end of the "show mpls ldp nei detail" output to see the parameters that you have set.

R1#sh mpls ldp nei det

Peer LDP Ident: 4.4.4.4:0; Local LDP Ident 1.1.1.1:0

TCP connection: 4.4.4.4.11003 - 1.1.1.1.646

State: Oper; Msgs sent/rcvd: 100/99; Downstream; Last TIB rev sent 16

Up time: 00:13:09; UID: 2; Peer Id 0;

LDP discovery sources:

Addresses bound to peer LDP Ident:

You rather want to look at the output of the "sh mpls ldp dis det" command to see what was negotiated holdtime between the two peers. The lowest holdtime value is taken. The interval is derived from the holdtime unless a lesser value is specified via the "mpls ldp discovery targeted-hello interval" command.

Hope this helps,
