Core issue

This issue can be due to a bug in Cisco IOS  12.2(18)SXF2, or due to the reception of IOS IP Service Level Agreement (SLA) SNMP requests (OID=1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.42).

This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCsd36155.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(18)SX. This software version can be downloaded from LAN Switching software.

As an alternative, disable the IP SLA SNMP requests in order to resolve this issue.

Note: If the IP SLA SNMP requests are disabled, all of the applications that use IP SLA cease to work for this device. For example, CiscoWorks Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) does not work in this case.
