Cannot access devices on a directly connected subnetwork

Core Issue

These are the most likely causes:

  • Misconfigured IP address
  • Problems in the physical layer


To resolve this issue, perform these steps:

  • Ensure that the IP address is configured correctly.
  • Check the physical connectivity, such as the cables, hubs, switches, and Network Interface Cards (NICs).
  • Ensure that the cable is working properly by trying different ports and swapping cables.
