CCP installation on Windows 8 & 8.1 with IE 11 x64

[toc:faq]

Introduction

This document describes how to install the Cisco Configuration Professional (Cisco CP) on Windows 8 and 8.1 in order to set the basic configuration of the router.

Tested with Windows 8.1 x64, I expect the same results with a x86 system.

Dependencies

  • IE with compatibility view.
  • Java 1.6 (recommended).
  • Adobe Flash Player plug-in.

Steps

  • Install Java version like 1.6, you may try with the latest, but I experience better results with 1.6.
  • Download and install the Adobe Flash Player plug-in (For all browsers).
  • Make sure to add 127.0.0.1 to the IE compatibility view list.

  • Install CCP cisco-config-pro-k9-pkg-2_7-en and make sure all the dependencies are satisfied.
  • Run CCP as an Administrator.
  • Include your device details and discover it.
