Sending a Call-Home Inventory Message Results in Robust Device Reports

By sending a Call-Home inventory message to Cisco, product hardware-specific information can be obtained and Call-Home communication between the Cisco platform and Smart Call Home can be verified. With further analysis of the inventory message, Smart Call Home provides detailed reports on physical components of Cisco platforms, and, in Smart Call Home 3.0 release, also provides access to associated Field Notices, Security Advisories, and End-of-Life Information.
