Core issue

The router crashes when Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) requests of IP Service Level Agreements (SLAs) MIB CISCO-RTTMON-MIB.my are sent to the router. This happens when an SNMP set is used to create an IP SLAs probe. The router does not crash when an SNMP request is received.

This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCin62031.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, upgrade the software to one of these versions:

  • 12.0(28)S03

  • 12.0(28.03)S

  • 12.1(22.03)E02

  • 12.2(18.10.19)SX03

As a workaround, choose one of these procedures:

  • Disable SNMP for IP SLAs MIB CISCO-RTTMON-MIB.my. If IP SLAs are desired, use the Command Line Interface (CLI).

  • Use the IP SLAs CLI in order to configure the IP SLAs probe, and use SNMP in order to retrieve the operation result.

  • Create a view and apply it to the community string used by the management
application, as shown in this example:

snmp-server view fix CSCsd36155 iso included
    snmp-server view fix
    CSCsd36155 ciscoRttMonMIB excluded
    snmp-server community private view fix
    CSCsd36155 RW
!--- where "private" is replaced by your read-write community string.
