2509 & 2511 Access Server EoL Replacements...

I was looking at the EoL notice for the 2509 & the 2511 series. And the replacement for the AS2511-RJ is the same replacement for the 2509 which is a 1700 series or a 2611XM or 2621XM. Can someone explain how a 1700 series could fulfill the roll of a AS2511-RJ or 2509? Currently there are 8 Console connections to various routers and switches that would need to be maintained upon replacing a 2509. How would this be achieved using a 1700 series router?

Since the 1700's are EoL I don't think you'll be going that way. Take a look the 1800 series. Here are the supported A/S cards-
