Hi all, I'm looking at upgrading our ACS 5.1 to 5.3. After reading the upgrade notes and seeing some of the issues experienced from the bundle upgrade I think I'm going with the fresh install / restore option. My only concern is that we're running a primary and secondary server in our environment; I have a plan to upgrade but wanted to run it by you fine folks to validate.
Here's my thoughts (please let me know if you see any potential pitfalls):
- Backup the primary from the console
- Promote the secondary to primary
- Rebuild the "old" primary with 5.3 then restore the backup
- Shut down the secondary server (now 5.1 primary) and rebuild that with 5.3
- Once the secondary is running add it to the new 5.3 primary as a secondary.
