Any cons to putting DFM standalone from rest of LMS ?
1. Are they any cons with putting DFM on its own server and the rest of LMS on another ?
2. DFM email notifications are too noisy for me. The event console seems to show only aggregrated or problem events and not symptom events. Is there a way to set up email notifications for only aggregrated events that meet a defined filter ?
Re: Any cons to putting DFM standalone from rest of LMS ?
The only con is that you need to manage another server. With DCR integration, you will not have to manually replicate device lists; and DFM by itself will allow you to manage up to 5000 devices (DFM 3.0) or 1500 (DFM 2.0).
In general, DFM alert notifications are useless as they do not provide enough details. However, you can modify your notification group so that only alerts are sent via notifications. This will not completely quiet down DFM as each time an event changes within an alert, you will still get a notification, but by picking either alerts or events, you will not receive "duplicate" emails.
