Greetings All,

Has anyone encountered the Apache web server Exception_Access_Violation on LMS 3.1 Windows Server 2003 x64

Apache.exe caused a Exception_Access_Violation in module ApacheCore.dll at 0023:6FFA8159, ap_ctx_get()+9 bytes(s)

When we try to access the CW portal we receive a Forbidden:  You don't have permission to access /cwhp/LiaisonServlet on this server error msg.

The Error Log in the mdc/Apache folder is a continuous storm of the above message?

Anyone encounter and fix this error?

Hi,

Kindly post the output of pdshow and the following files

1> stdout.log  (CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\logs)

2> stderr.log (CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\logs)

3> error.log (CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\log)

Also, kindly try to regenerate the SSL Certificate and then disable it.

Steps

-------------

net stop crmdmgtd  (wait for 10 minutes)

delete all the server.* files in

CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\conf\SSL   ( take the backup of them at desktop)

Then change the directory to: cd CSCOpx\MDC\Apache

and run:

CSCOpx\bin\perl ConfigSSL.pl -disable

CSCOpx\bin\perl configssl.pl -enable

and fill out the form. Please enter only the hostname of the server and not the FQDN.

CSCOpx\bin\perl ConfigSSL.pl -disable

net start crmdmgtd (wait 10 minutes)

Now, give it a try and see if it would work. Otherwise post the above logs files with pdshow output.

Thanks
Gaganjeet

Gaganjeet,

I am enclosing three file for your review.  Things here are going steadily from bad to worse.  I had read a post concerning some of my issues, and there was mention that if a service was changed from manual to automatic, then it could cause the error that I have descibed.  I had really only changed the web server from manual to auto, and I changed it back.  Now services take a very, very long time to start.

I am still waiting for the last 30 minutes for all the services to start.  In the past they have started almost immediately.  I have attempted a pdshow, but it failed due to the other processes starting up.  I will forward as soon as I am able.

Pat

Hi,

Kindly make sure the services have the proper startup types as below

CiscoWorks Daemon Manager
CWCS syslog service
CWCS tftp service
CWCS rsh/rcp service

The above 4 services should have startup type as Automatic.

Here is a list of all CiscoWorks services and their settings:

Ciscoworks ANI database engine :Manual
CiscoWorks Daemon Manager :Auto
CiscoWorks RME NG database :Manual
CiscoWorks Tomcat Servlet engine : Manual
CW VisiBroker Smart Agent :Manual
CiscoWorks Web Server :Manual
CWCS Cmf database engine :Manual
CWCS rsh/rcp service :Auto
CWCS syslog service :Auto
CWCS tftp service :Auto
DFM dfmEpm :Manual
DFM dfmFh :Manual
DFM dfmInv :Manual

Stop the daemon manager and then start the dameon manager.

In the meantime I am revewing the logs you have uploaded.

Thanks

Gaganjeet

Kindly reboot the server after changing the startup type according to the above mentioned states and then see if that fix the issue

Thanks

Gaganjeet

Gaganjeet,

I have noticed that the TomcatMonitor.log is reporting that the Tomcat is not ready.  It's coming up connection refused: connect

TomcatMonitor Inside whileloop

I did change the tomcat-users.xml file.  In my attempt to access the Apache server, I added a user to the tomcat-users.xml file.

Is the context correct as far as you know?  I did notice I was getting error prior to the above format.  It seems to be related to the error that I am now getting.

Gaganjeet,

I have waited 10 minutes and have tried to access the server following the recreation of the SSL certificate. I am encountering the Forbidden, you don't have permission to access/on this server error message.

Services were still not started.  The Ani server still hadn't come up even after the 10 minutes, so I manually started it.

Not sure what is going on, whether it is a CiscoWorks issue or an issue with the Apache.

pdshow has finally completed and I have enclosed below.

Thank you

Hi

Again pdshow output is not complete. Kindly run the pdshow like this and send the pdshow.txt fie

C:\pdshow > c:\pdshow.txt

Hi,

Kindly revert all the changes that you had done in tomcat-users.xml.

My server tomcat-users.xml looks like this :-

Note := Need not to define anything on this log so it should contain the above information only.

You need to restart the dameon manager and then post the new pdshow1.txt file output with the following logs

1> stdout.log

2> stderr.log

2> error.log

Thanks

Gaganjeet

Greetings,

I am now getting a Server Not Ready banner.

Please wait....System is coming up.  You will be redirected to login page soon.  This has been visible for about 15 minutes.

Hi,

Kindly post the new pdshow1.txt file output with the following logs

1> stdout.log

2> stderr.log

2> error.log

Thanks

Gaganjeet

Gaganjeet,

Thank you very much for all your help.  I am working on applying the last corrections you have suggested, and I will collect the files you have requested.

Gaganjeet,

That was exactly the correct fix.  When I restarted the Daemon that last time everything came back, with no server connection failures.  Thank you very much for all your guidance.  I could not have solved my issue without your help.

1.  My first mistake was changing the service from manual to auto

2.  I made the issue worse when I changed the Tomcat-User.xml file

Hi,

Glad to know the issue is fixed and now working fine.

Thanks and have a great day

Regards

Gaganjeet
