bandwidth consumption by application

hi

I need know like is consumption the bandwidth link by application (http, ftp, smtp) in a router with C2801-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M IOS

I enable in the router nbar protocol-discovery but it does not indicate the consumption in percentage on the bandwidth during a certain period of time

Re: bandwidth consumption by application

If the router have the NM-NAM installed, that can help with this as well.

To enable you need "ip nbar protocol-discovery" on the interface and (I think) "ip cef" global command.

Then

"show ip nbar protocol-discovery interface "

should show you an actual bitrate. If you need a percentage divide the bitrate shown by the max bandwidth available on the interface. Also I think that the reporting period can be controlled with the "load-interval" interface config command - default is 5 minutes but can go as low as 30secs
