Hi
I feel ur using DB-25 connector to get connected to ur console port,if thats the case i would better suggest to try with other connector but if u have already done with the that then better check out the console port settings.

Hi,
so the console access works with the same terminal software, cable and settings for another cisco router? I would use a different cable and connector because you might just have a broken wire or something like that.
Can you post the console section of your 7200 config to see what might be wrong there?

Hi,
THanks a lot for your reply. Cable and terminal software are 101% sure no problem as i used the same cable and the same terminal software to connnect to another cisco and it works well. Here is config for my console:
line con 0
password xxxxxxxxx
login

Hi,
You do not get any prompt or output even when hitting return for serveral times?
Can you also post a show version, namely the setting of your config-register. This has an impact on console speed settings as well.
Hope this helps

OK,
from what you have shown I would conclude NO configuration problem on the router. So your connector, cable, terminal program/laptop OR the console port can be the reason.
Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I suspect that console port failure.
