Campus Manager 3.2 User Tracking always in discovery mode

We are using LMS 2.1. The campus manager 3.2 user tracking is always in discovery mode.

We have tried to perl reinitdb -ut, stop and start the ciscowork daemon. It still does not solve the problem.

Can anyone advise

This could be many things. Since you did not mention your server platform, I will assume Windows. The most common cause of UT acquisition taking forever on Windows is due to the way Windows does name lookups. The resultion order is:

1. Local computer

2. hosts file

3. DNS

4. Directed NetBIOS queries

The last one is the killer. The workaround for this problem is either to add every host in your network to DNS or the local hosts file, or disable NetBIOS over TCP on the server.

That said, this is only a guess. I recommend you collect the and ANIServer.log (Windows) or daemons.log (Solaris) and open a TAC Service Request. From there, a more conclusive diagnosis can be given.
