What type of switch is this? Looks to be more of a switch issue than UT. If the MAC is showing up in the cam table then UT will put it in its reports. From the output above it looks like it is showing in the MAC/CAM tables.

Does show cam dynamic show this MAC?

Re: Campus Manager - Ciscowierdyworks

Hi, thanks for replying.

The switch is an IOS switch cisco WS-C3548-XL running 12.0(5)WC2 (old IOS I know), however, the IOS equivalent of the command above is as follows:

TOR-I-SWT006#sho mac-address-table int fa0/10

Non-static Address Table:

Destination Address Address Type VLAN Destination Port

0008.028a.0c03 Secure 24 FastEthernet0/10

...and the address type is secure, meaning its a manually static configured MAC address assigned to that switchport, so although the switchport is admin down why and how is campus manager reporting and resolving the mac address to the device name?

I think it was because the switchport was enabled at some point and campus manager has cached this info???

I know campus manager can be network intensive when UT is enabled, is there a tuning guide for UT and campus manager? What do people typically set their UT and campus manager polling times to?

kind regards
