starting inr RME netconfig jobs I get:
"Error occured while processing.
Possible Cause: URN_NOT_FOUND : urn "JRM" : Not found !!"
( I had the hope that this version would fix at least 1 of my old problems - but instead I got more...)
If jrm is not running, this could be due to a bad System Identity User (perhaps you are integrated with ACS, and the System Identity User does not have full access rights), you recently changed the hostname on the server, or you have a certificate error. The jrm.log along with a pdshow output should contain more information.
I returned to loacal authentiction. The system ID user is ok:
in jrm.log I found
"Authentication and Authorization succeeded." the hostname hasn't changed.
Process= jrm - State = Running normally
any other ideas?
At this point jrm looks healthy. Check the status of CTMJrmServer. If it is not running, try a pdexec CTMJrmServer. If that does not work, check the CTMJrmServer.log.
the CTMJrmServer was "never started". so I did it with "pdexec CTMJrmServer"
-> pdshow shows a normal running status for a short while
BUT then I found:
State = Administrator has shut down this server
Pid = 0
RC = 15
Signo = 0
Start = 28.09.2006 16:24:36
Stop = 28.09.2006 16:25:57
Core = Not applicable
Info = Application dependency stop: depends on stopped application(s).
which application has also to be started?
I couldn't start RMEDbMonitor; I also saw that RMEDbEngine is not started (I guesss it's necessary???). Trying to start this service in windows I got the message that rmeng.log doesnt expect operations in the transactionslog...
Ah, yes, a tpyical error. Do the following:
net stop crmdmgtd
NMSROOT\objects\db\win32\dbsrv9 -f rmeng.db
net start crmdmgtd
At this point, you should be set. If not, then you will have to reinitialize your rmeng database using the command:
NMSROOT\bin\perl NMSROOT\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=rmeng dmprefix=RME
Note: NMSROOT is the path into which CiscoWorks was installed.
whow - although I'm not sure what I'm doing - I had to go the second way (obvious a rebuild of the db?).
after this all required prozesses are running "normaly" exept the RMEDbEngine: "Program started - No mgt msgs received "
BUT I still cannot use netconfig, syslog reports, etc.
I also found only a quarter of former devices in the CS repository....
What error do you get trying to run Netconfig now? None of the devices in DCR should have been touched by this operation, though all of the inventory and configuration data stored by RME will be gone.
there no error message trying to start any of the submenue in RME - but also no action.
and in fact: in DCR I've lost 600 devices...
I recommend you get the TAC involved. At this point remote access via Meeting Place would be quickest to track down this problem.
unfortuantelly I'm not authorized to open a TAC case - so I reinstalled ciscoworks AND found another problem (I'll open a new topic for this)
anyway jclarke - thanks for your support
