CAR 4.0 and accounting on/off messages (session release).
We recently had an issue with the accounting on/off messages send from a client. We are using a modified Version of ParseAAASRealm and because accounting on/off messages include no user-name the CAR didn't know (no default service defined) how to response. We made a simple modification to check if Acct-Type is either Accounting-on or off to assign it to a default Accounting Service else continue with the ParseAAASRealm Script.
Any ideas what is the logic behind Cisco's implementation of Accounting on/off...as described under Session/Identity Tracking and Caching Features:
- Automatic session release when accounting on/off is detected (system accounting)?
Also currently CAR is releasing Sessions based on NAS-Identity but we would like to chane it to NAS-IP-Address if possible.
