Catalyst 3750-X / 3560-X SNMP Polling of Fans/Power Supplies

Hello,

we have problems with SNMP Indices regarding fan state in 3750-X / 350-X Series and with power supllies in 3560-x series in the

way that the after restarts of the IOS it changes.

The OID for the power supply is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.5.1.3.index.

The OID for the fan is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.index.

In the 3750-X stack the snmpwalk for the fans look like this

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.1059 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.2059 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.3059 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.4060 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.5060 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.6059 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.7059 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.8059 = INTEGER: 1

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.8060 = INTEGER: 1

So there should be 2 of the fans, right ? Why sometimes 1059 and sometimes 1060 ??

In the 3560-X units there is no way to predict the index (in the range 1056-1060).

Does anybody know how to fix the INDEX ? (Another idea is to periodically run an EEM Policy, I am not happy with it)

your ideas are very appreciated.

Herbert
