I am trying to run Change management reports to review what device changes users made on network devices for specified periods. When I get output from a report and then open details on a report entry I keep getting an popup with Info DCMA0055: CM0036 The configuration file cannot be displayed as this could be a binary file.
Is there something I need to do to get details on the actual changes ?
You are trying to view the changes to the vlan.dat file. These files contain opaque binary data, and the changes cannot be viewed (hence the message you see). Admittedly, reporting such changes are noisy, and not very useful. Therefore, we added the ability to turn off those changes under RME > Admin > Change Audit > Config Change Filter. Simply check the box to disable the change audit records for vlan.dat files.
