Changing Hostname

HI,

I was going through the UG to check the procedure of changing Hostname/IP of the LMS server and found the last quoted statement as :

"If the hostname of the machine changes, the stability of the system is not guaranteed and it fails in some cases"

Does this mean there are chances that even after performing all the steps, it is likely to still not work?

we will be looking at installing Ciscoworks LMS 3.0.1 on Solaris 10. Can you please confirm that the procedure below applies for that?

Re: Changing Hostname

We reboot the box after changing the hostname on the OS side. After it comes back up with the new hostname, make the necessary changes for the apps such as LMS (running hostnamechange.pl). No reboot is needed after that. But you could always reboot the box again, if you're concerned about the implied instability.
