Hi Community,

I would like to monitor a 3750-E switch regarding the parameters below. As I saw there are a lot MIBs. Can anyone please advise which MIB to use, Thanks.

1) Each LAN port status (Eg. Up/ Down)

2) LAN switch status (Eg Up/ Down)

3) Each LAN port bandwith utilization ( To see if any traffic is flooding the port etc)

choosing MIB SNMP 3750E

Hi Boon,

The mib supported is IFMIB, through which we can fetch the information

about the AdminStatus or OperStatus of the interface on any device .

By running the command sh snmp mib on the device ,you can see which MIBS are supported on your device.

2. Also the best way would be to configure snmp trap on the device, so that whenever any interface goes down device should send the information

automatically to the Server. Following command needs to be configured on the device for this to work:

" snmp-server community RO

snmp-server enable traps snmp linkup linkdown

    snmp-server host traps "

Refer to How to Calculate Bandwidth Utilization Using SNMP:

I hope this will help
