Hi,
We're deploying a decent amount of Cisco switches and I would like to know if there is any Cisco software (paid or free) which would give me a centralised management platform, monitoring and backups for all the devices?
I know I can use Spiceworks but would prefer something more network device specific which would also log bandwidth usage etc.
Any advice appreaciated.
Cheers.

Hi,
Thanks for that but when I try to download LMS it says I need an additional entitlement?
I'm not a fan of What's up Gold but Nagios looks good.
Cheers,
Gregor

To get the LMS evaluation software, try going via http://www.cisco.com/go/nmsevals LMS will give you the greatest functionality managing wired Cisco devices. Prime Infrastructure 2.0 can also dio similar functions (but not all) and adds wireless capability as well. It's also available from the nmsevals store.
A good open source solution can be put together with RANCID for config backup plus Cacti for bandwidth monitoring.
On the paid product side, I have also seen people have good success with SolarWinds NCM (for configs) plus NPM (for performance).
