Cisco LMS 3.1 Change Server Name

Dear All,

we have change the computer's name of the installed LMS3.1 and found out the Shortcut icon (LMS icon) still targeting the previous name link.

Please guide on how to change the target naming.

You can't. Just create a new URL shortcut which points to the new server name. For example, the target URL would be something like:

http://server:1741

I read on the thread just now, titled "Network Management: Changing URL in Notification Emails", saw a recomendation by changing the FQDN or the registry hostname. Is that possible?

There are steps to change the server name for LMS functionality. In LMS 3.1, that involves running the NMSROOT\bin\hostnamechange.pl script. However, that will not affect the Windows desktop shortcut.
