I just racked a Cisco MARS and connected to ETH 1. I booted up and configured an IP and gateway from the Linux command line. I get intermittent connectivity. I tried the other ethernet port as well as swapping cables. I even tried the second MARS we purchased. It will ping the GW about 10 times and then skips 30+ packets before pinging again. Am I missing something? I didn't see any commands to change the duplex or speed.

Hopefully you saw and followed Task 2 here?

Also, are any type of errors being generated on the switchport(s) where you've connected the CS-Mars?

You may also want to test from the perspective of the switch you plugged the MARS into. Verify MAC-ADDRESS-TABLES for VLAN MARS assigned to along with IP ARP tables - possible dup IP.
