One of my customers has a managed LAN and WAN. Today, he is using LMS 4.0.1 and WCS for Network Control.
The configuration of the devices is in such a way that all the snmp-traps are sended to the LMS and the umbrella system by the provider (Switches only), the WCS are sending all the traps directly to the provider system.
The WCS (5 devices) are sending about 5000 traps a day averagly. That's too much (only a few of these traps are relevant).
Is there a possibility - by upgrading to NCS - to filter these messages (e.g. by serverity level) bevor sending to the NMS?
Or is there a possibility with the combination of LMS 4.2 and NCS to do this?
Where can I find some informations about the snmp trap handling of the NCS; the possibilities of filtering and/or the combination of LMS 4.2 and NCS?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
