Cisco Works LMS 2.5 UT Tracking Utility not discovering IP addresses

Hi,

We have Cisco Works LMS 2.5 configured and working. Campus manager discovers all the switches and also all the users. But I can only see MAC address, switch to which end user is connected to, port etc. I don't get IP address information of the end user which can be very useful as compared to end user MAC address.

I've seen same version of Cisco Works at another company and that was also showing IP addresses of end users.

Please advise if I am missing something.

Is the router that is the default gateway for these users also discovered?

UT gets the ip addresses from that routers arp cache.

Hi

You need to understand how Campus Manager works. MAC address are fetched from switches and IP addresses are fetched from routers.

After that CM compare and display the table that you are seeing. You may want to increase cache timeout to increase the possibility of discovering the MAC address with IP together.

It is also depends on how often you run UT Utility. By default is everyday 10:00 and 14:00.
