Cisco Works - Supports 150 nodes??

I have a client who would like a product like Cisco Works that supports up to 150 Cisco Devices. Now i know that the latest version of CW only supports 40, and LSM looks more like a layer 2 only infrastructure solution..can anyone refer me to what i'm looking for? Would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Re: Cisco Works - Supports 150 nodes??

Hi Bret,

the LMS (Lan Management Solution) support 300 devices with the restricted license and many more above 300 with unrestricted. I have csotumers with an unrestricted license managing up to 4000 devices and more.

Have a short overview within the FAQ here:

I am not aware about a CW Application that supports 40 devices. I know the CNA (Cisco Network Assistant) which can manage 20 devices.

I hope that helps a bit.

Best regards,

Cisco Employee

The customer might be referring to CiscoWorks SNMS which supports a smaller # of devices:

Re: Cisco Works - Supports 150 nodes??

If the customer is talking about Cisco Mgmt software and 40 devices, SNMS is the only thing he can talk about.

But - sorry to all Cisco guys - I think this sw is out-of-date. It relys on IPSwitch WhatsUp Gold (version 8). Where as IPSwitch itself does not sell this version any more for about 2 years. WuG has some problems - patches exists- but Ciscos official statement is that they are not supported...

LMS? restricted version could be a decission or the currtent version from IpSwitch - and doing the Config Mgmt with tools like KIWI.

There are some possibilities depending on what the customer wants to do...
