CiscoEnvMonSupplyState MIB Incorrect reporting failure

rwilletts
Level 1
Level 1

Using SNMP ( various NM's )  the status of a PSU's in a 6509 running 12.2(33)SXH3a returns " 6:Not functioning instead of 1:Normal "

CiscoEnvMonState
1:normal
2:warning
3:critical
4:shutdown
5:notPresent
6:notFunctioning

However the PSU are operating normally and ' show env ' reports OK ...?

Has anyone else seen this issue ?

Is this switch in a VSS configuration?  You may be seeing CSCso57334 which is fixed in SXI.

Yes it is , quite possibly it's the problem - thanks

It certainly could be:

Symptom:

SNMP: ciscoEnvMonSupplyState and ciscoEnvMonFanStatusEntry return wrong value in VSS  setup after removing PS

Conditions:

Removal of a Power Supply (PS); only affecting VSS setup, not standalone.

Workaround:

Once plugged back a working PS, SNMP values are back to correct ones.

It's fixed in 12.2(33)SXI.
